The Performance of SiO₂ Nanofluid-based Split-frequency PV/T Energy

Abstract The efficiency of both solar photovoltaic and thermal power generation is relatively low, with the maximum panel temperature conventional PV/T modules reaching 68.4 °C at noon, average electrical only 12.98%. In this paper, energy performance a module based on SiO 2 nanofluid was studied. Firstly, three different types nanofluids, mass fraction 0.3%, 0.5%, 0.7%, were prepared tested for their spectrum transmittance, results manifested that 0.5% exhibited strong absorption characteristics in band after 400–1150 nm. Three liquid film thicknesses 5 mm, 10 15 fractions 0.7% selected calculation spectral transmittance experiments whole module. After conducting twenty-minute experimental tests efficiency, flat panel, turned out reached 52.19%, which found thickness mm lower 40 °C, an than PV panels.
